You want to start a business. But where do you actually begin?

Maybe you know you want to start a side hustle or small business, but you’re not sure what you could sell.
Maybe you already have an idea, but you keep wondering whether anyone would actually pay for it.
Or maybe you know exactly what you want to build — you just don’t know what to do first.
You don’t need to figure out everything today. You just need to know your next step.
For the button, instead of “Start with a simple plan,” I would actually remove the button from this first section.
Why? Because this page itself is “Start Here.” We haven’t shown them their options yet, so asking them to click somewhere immediately defeats the purpose.
Then we move straight into your current “Maybe this feels familiar…” section — and that’s where I want to make the page much more useful by turning it into those different stages of starting a business.

Maybe this feels familiar…

But underneath, replace the three current statements with:
You know you want to start a side hustle or small business — but you have no idea what you could sell.
You have skills, experience and things you’re good at. You just can’t quite see how they could become a business.
You have an idea — but you don’t know if it’s a good one.Would anyone pay for it? Who would you sell it to? Should you spend money setting everything up before you even know?
You know what you want to build — but you’re overwhelmed by what comes next.Website. Email list. Social media. Payments. Legal stuff. Funnels. You keep researching what you “need” and somehow the list just keeps getting longer.

Whichever one sounds most like you, there is a next step.

A simpler way forward

Starting a business can feel complicated because there is so much information telling you what you should be doing.
But you don’t need to do everything at once. You need to figure out what you want to build, whether it makes sense for the people you want to help, and then take the practical steps to bring it to life.
That might mean figuring out what you could sell.It might mean testing an idea before you invest time and money in it.
Or it might mean finally setting up the business you’ve been thinking about for months.
You don’t need the whole roadmap today. You just need the next right step.

Where are you right now?

I DON’T KNOW WHAT I COULD SELL

You know you want to start something, but you’re not sure what kind of business makes sense for you.
Start by looking at your skills, experience, interests and the problems you already know how to solve.

I HAVE AN IDEA

You think you know what you want to sell, but you’re not sure whether people actually want it — or whether they’ll pay for it.
Before you build the website, create the product or spend money, start by testing the idea.

I’M READY TO START

You know what you want to build. Now you need to figure out what you actually need to set it up — without getting buried in tools, platforms and advice.
Start with the essentials and build from there.
